Division I Top Ten Recap
1. Navy (11-2)
After stumbling into the post season, Navy went back to basics and fought through three worthy challengers in two days to repeat as National Champions. While the Middies are always in shape, they also have tremendous stick skills. With back to back titles, that’s a winning combination.

2. Delaware (9-3)
With over 70 players on their roster, Delaware stepped up its game and dispatched Loyola, Cornell, and JMU on their way to their finalist appearance is the NC. As the talent and organization has risen, expect results to follow. Even with some of the talented seniors departing, each position will be highly contested by several able underclassmen.
Preseason Rank #4
Best games:5-1 over Loyola/11-6 over Navy/9-8 OT over Rutgers10-8 over Cornell
3. Rutgers (18-2)
Although disappointed to not partake in the National Championships with a 1st round upset at home, Rutgers has taken on a new life behind its dedicated and devoted team. Over the past two years, Rutgers has been the Most Improved and has finished in the Top Five in both. The R is now known and feared.

4. Penn State (12-2)
The Nittany Lions are a tight group who fought off a powerful Maryland squad before battling eventual National Champion Navy. With another season of double digit wins, Penn State has restored the roar in State College and will look to get past the Final Four with a strong nucleus returning.
Preseason Rank #2
Best games:13-7 over Slippery Rock/12-11OT over Bucknell/10-9 over MD
5. James Madison (8-4)
Playing without some of their talented seniors on graduation day, JMU took it to Hofstra before giving Delaware a run for the Cup in their Final Four matchup. With three losses by a goal during the regular season, JMU has cracked the Top Five and looks to stay upwardly mobile.
Preseason Rank #5
Best games: 9-4 over Lynchburg/4-2 over Loyola/8-7 over UVA
6. Maryland (12-5)
Losing by the narrowest of margins in the Elite Eight will only provide more fuel for the Terps to begin next season. With tremendous strides in 2012, Maryland has clearly righted the ship and plays each game as a championship of their own. With a large returning roster, expect the Hardshells to highlight each game next year as defending Chesapeake Champions.

7. Cornell (9-3)
The Big Red joined the Show after taken down power house and undefeated Cortland. Preseason Rank #15
Best games: 7-5 over Binghamton/5-3 over Syracuse/10-7 over Cortland
8. Cortland (9-1)
While the Red Dragons have a knack for finishing off close games, the percentages caught up with them in a revenge driven Cornell team. Over the past four years, Cortland’s seniors have lost only three games combined. For a team built upon tradition and stability, it’s easy to figure out why Cortland has remained in rarified air.
Preseason Rank #20
Best games: 10-9 over Ithaca/10-8 over Syracuse/12-11 over Cornell
9. Virginia (11-5)
After naysayers dismissed the ‘Hoos because of a poor showing in fall ball, Virginia ramped up their travel schedule and took it to teams of all ages in Louisiana, Maryland, and North Carolina. Only a loss to rival JMU kept them from Annapolis and another shot at the title.
Preseason Rank #9
